These webinars will be offered from June-August, 2016 at no cost to the GME community. To access the webinar, individuals must pre-register through the site. Registration will remain open until the day of the webinar. Individual sessions and speakers are listed below.

Speakers: Lyuba Konopasek, MD; Carol Bernstein, MD

Physician stress, burnout, and depression are serious problems across the continuum of medical education. The prevalence of death by suicide among physicians is significantly higher than in the general population. It is critical that we think strategically about how to promote physician well-being and address mental health issues in training programs. After a brief introduction on the topics of burnout, resilience, and identifying residents at risk, the speakers will identify stressors and potential solutions to addressing these issues in clinical learning environments. Next, they will introduce a structured tool to help participants complete an initial needs assessment in order to facilitate the development of new initiatives to address resident well-being in their own institutions. Finally, speakers will focus on identifying curricular innovations, coaching and mentoring strategies, and faculty development activities.
